'The Pitt' e 'Hacks' guidano le candidature alla 78ª edizione dei Primetime Emmy Awards, annunciate da Liza Colón-Zayas e Jeff Hiller.
La serie medical 'The Pitt' è in testa con 25 nomination, tra cui Miglior serie drammatica e Miglior attore protagonista in una serie drammatica per Noah Wyle, interprete del dottor Michael "Robby" Robinavitch.
Segue 'Hacks' con 24 candidature, comprese quelle per Miglior serie comedy e Miglior attrice protagonista in una serie comedy per Jean Smart.
Tra gli altri titoli più nominati figurano 'Widow's Bay' con 19 candidature, 'Pluribus' con 18 e 'Beef' con 16.
Jason Bateman è l'interprete con il maggior numero di candidature: quattro, tra cui quelle come miglior attore protagonista e miglior attore non protagonista in una miniserie, serie antologica o film per la TV.
Con tre nomination a testa seguono Quinta Brunson, Paul W. Downs, Matthew Rhys, Jason Segel, Martin Short e Noah Wyle.

La cerimonia della 78ª edizione dei Primetime Emmy Awards si terrà il 14 settembre al Peacock Theater di Los Angeles e sarà presentata da Mariska Hargitay. È la prima volta dopo 15 anni che una donna conduce la serata.
